Good Lesson and a Naughty Word
Submitted by mott on September 21, 2007 - 23:46The tale goes like this: A bird freezing on a cold day suddenly finds himself covered by the droppings of a passing cow. Feeling warm he thrusts his head up and starts singing happily. He is heard by a cat who pulls him out and kills him. The triple moral of this story is: if someone covers you with shit, he is not necessarily your enemy; if someone pulls you out of it, he is not necessarily your friend; and if you are up to your neck in shit, don't sing about it.
This story, I believe, is an old Russian saying as told by Edgar Knobloch. It applies as much to Ed Tech as prison.
