About

Jonathan C. E. Mott-Trille - "mott"

Screaming, both literally and figuratively, towards my 20th year as a teacher, I've been a Mac user since my Mac LC III.

On the off-chance it gives me any Mac-cred, I have my Master's in Education, a Specialist in Computers in the Classroom, and I'm a Certified Apple Help Desk Specialist and an Apple Distinguished Educator.

This macademic site is really a compendium of the Mac-centric flotsam and jetsam that comes my way in teaching with Macs. I fight it, but I admit it: I'm a victim of Apple Reality Distortion field, a member of the Church, and I'm drinking the Cool Aid. Nevertheless, when things don't seem to be working properly with my Mac I enjoy the challenge of working out a problem and whenever I can I jot down any practical nuggets I discover to this blog so that I don't forget, and in the hopes that it may be some help to other Apple educators out there.

I'm keen to be corrected, updated and re-directed on any of my misguided postings - and apologies for any and all errors. Please feel free to contact me at mott at macademic dot info or look for me on iChat as "reggae".

In the unlikely event that you'd like more "macademic-stylings", I also host a podcast, yackademac, with my good friend Matthew Connors, aka "Tex Sport".

As Bob Marley might have said if he'd used an Apple: "One love, One Mac!"
